Digital citizenship is a crucial topic today. Your online behavior can be used to judge your character.

 

In this video, OSU Director of Branding and Digital Strategy Megan Horton gives important tips for being a good digital citizen.

 

Digital citizenship tips:

• Nothing is truly anonymous or gone on the internet. Even if your Snapchat disappears on your device, it is not really gone.

• Don't post content you don't want to go public. People can screenshot your content/replies and post them to their accounts. 

• Digital citizenship isn't always negative. Create a social profile that is inviting and positive by posting content that fits your brand. 

• Employers look at social media. Think before your post, post content you are OK with employers seeing, and Google yourself to see what your social profile looks like from an outside perspective.
